Crocheting fever

I have the fever lately to crochet like crazy. Don't know if it's because of the cooler weather, you know rainy days fireplace curled up on the couch crocheting or because we have a  new grandbaby in the family, but I can't put down my hook!!  Just call me madem Hook  ~ lol ...I guess it's better than Capt. Hook.   I don't feel too bad, I have a girlfriend who's younger than I am and she loves spending all her extra time crocheting too !! so it's not just an old lady sport~ Big grin :)) ~ I think it would be even fun to join a crocheting group or create one ~ hmmm my wheels are turning.... Anyway here's just a couple things of been working on....

I enjoy starting my morning {usually at 4am} with a cup of coffee , book and beads..

I am where I need to be

I'm Feeling like I'm getting a slow start to the 2015 year, although the start of the year has been anything but slow, {on a personal side}

But truth be told I haven't been in the studio one day this year!!!        {only to clean}

{Insert scream and panic, I have 

Shows booked I need to get busy}

So what's my deal?   

am I having designer block?  

am I lacking motivation?

do I not have enough gems in my studio to motivate me???  

{lol that last ones funny}

 I think my issue is, what do I make now?

  "I want to make  something different, new... but yet I like my old designs", says the little pixie on my one shoulder, while the little neurotic pixie on the other shoulder yells out "hello you've  been there done that move on !!

I just wan to slap that little neurotic one to the ground!!! 

          

          ~ Green tea, deep breath ~Or maybe a glass of wine :}}

   It's all good it's just my hormones...

That's it!   Maybe I should create a menopause line!!!!   Or maybe not :) 

Can you imagine the things you would stamp/say for a menopause line??? LOL!!

I think I'm just going to pause,

step back, reflect and then move forward but in the meantime I think Ill use my old designs for motivation for the new year~ 

I hope the start of your new design year is getting off the ground a little bit better than mine.

I'm really feeling blessed the way 2014 is starting out, my first submission to Belle Armoire being excepted was an honor and 2 more excepted at Jewelry Affaire ~

As an artist I think we can be our worst critics feeling at times not measuring up to this or that or to whom.. When instead we should be embracing our own unique style , technique and creativity. 

Being content with some things and continuing to grow and learn in other areas ~ Not necessarily reinventing ourselves but enhancing who we already are.. 

Right now I'm just going to enjoy my new victories, count my blessings and keep going !!! 

And just take time to enjoy the journey.

Father, Daughter project

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree ~

I know I get my passion for repurposing from my childhood. Raised in a family of 4 with mom at home raising the Whitney rug rats and dad brining in the house hold income we lived on a tight budget. 

Mom was amazing how far she could make a dollar go and dad could repair and fix up anything ~ They loved going to yard sales way back then... You know the 60's & 70s ~ while I was still a Kid/teenager I wasn't sure it was "cool" to get my bell bottoms from the front yard of some strangers house, I'd rather go to Funky damn near new or Judys ~ 

Looking back... My parents were super cool!! They knew what was up back then. I'm thankful for those grassroots of not over spending in large department stores and learning about what I call the neighborhood FleaMarket/yard sales and repair and fixing objects ~ in my opinion today's society's  young and some "mature" folks are just to disposable of most material things they have
worked hard to get, or someone did. Entitlement took the place of allowance and earn and buy it yourself and that trickles up to supple and demand, crazy cycle. 

Brings me to my  father daughter project, daddy went to a yard sale and found this lovely warn tattered vintage sitting chair and thought with a little TLC this would be a beautiful chair once again. I'm loving our plans for this yard sale score!!!
